You might think this is a California coastal forest painting, but actually the site is in the Bronx Botanical Gardens in New York City! My wife and I found a forest in the middle of the gardens that not only had beautiful Azaleas and Rhododendrons in bloom, but it was a rare time when we realized we were hearing absolutely nothing. Silence is almost unknown in New York City, so this respite in the "forest of the Bronx" proved a favorite place for us.
