Every now and then I go through a streak of pallete knife paintings. This is one of them. I love the buttery feel of oil paints and with a knife it is like spreading fine mayonnaise on bread. Painting is always a sensual experience, and being able to use globs of paint and lots of painting medium is like taking a week's vacation!
Bridges like the one in the painting are everywhere in the south of France, and the impressionistic flavor is a tribute to the practioners of that style more than a century ago.
