The artist is crazy for Italian food. When these items are lying on the preparation board at home, there's joy to be had. The pitcher's full of spicy italian salad dressing, the pasta's about to be boiled along with the artichoke, and a saucy mixture of fresh tomato and garlic awaits.
This painting was done in New York City where, from our apartment window, I could overlook the corner produce stand. A 3 minute trip brought back all I needed for this painting.
