Six miles from where we live is beautiful Bass Lake, a stunning mountain lake perfect for the summer vacations of people from San Francisco and Los Angeles. Most people go no further than the lakeshore, but the locals know to travel north on Beasore road to our worst kept secret, Jones' Store where arguably the finest hamburgers in the world are made and sold throughout the good weather months. Just before arriving at Jones' Store sits a meadow, a barn and a surrounding of gorgeous ponderosa pines and white firs. Places like this are the reason we live here. Everywhere one turns is a scene crying out to be painted.
