We were living in New York City when this painting started out as a study in perspective, then it blossomed into a trompe l'oeil when I decided it needed some color. So I gathered items from around our home to fill the shelves. Included are some of those personal, meaningless things such as my wife's coin purse and scarf, as well as a few more valuable antique items.
